First day of the training camp

A few minutes before the agreed training time all Legia players were present on the huge hall of the Cetniewo centre and waited for the end of Lechia Gdansk training session. Artur Boruc, asked for the room standard, only smiled and said “Well, the centre isn’t new”. Jacek Magiera was satisfied, but admitted that he didn’t see the entire Cetniewo complex yet. Tomek Jarzebowski, who doesn’t feel the effects of injury any longer, was delighted to finally kick the ball after months of rehabilitation. He announced that he would fight for his position in Legia first team, but also in the Polish national team. Captain Lukasz Surma expressed similar hopes, but as far the Poland team was concerned, without much conviction. Smolinski, asked when the coach Wladyslaw Zmuda would notice the player’s good form, stated to be closer to the 1985 national squad, which is to be formed as the Olympic team. Dickson Choto, smiling as usual, claimed that he was freezing and put his clothes off only when the training started. It was visible that Krzysztof Krol, who stood on the sidelines watching the new colleagues, doesn’t feel well in the team yet. Let’s hope that he will soon find a common language with the team. Jacek Zielinski planned an hour-and-a-half training consisting of four parts: warm-up, speed training, endurance training and a game. The exercises weren’t particularly intensive. But first Piotr Wlodarczyk, Marek Saganowski and Lukasz Surma decided to practice shots from 10 meters at an empty goal, but the ball was to bounce off the crossbar on its way. The contest was won by Legia captain, Sagan hit the crossbar, and Wlodar… well, he has to practice ... At 6:30 p.m the training was over.
