Four Legia players caught the eye of coach Pawel Janas who named the squad for two upcoming 2006 World Cup qualifiers. Goalkeeper Artur Boruc, defender Tomasz Kielbowicz, midfielder Bartosz Karwan and forward Marek Saganowski are among 28 footballers who will play against Azerbaijan (26th March) and Northern Ireland (30th March) at Legia stadium in Warsaw, Lazienkowska 3.
While Artur Boruc is already a regular in the Polish national team, the other three players have yet to earn recognition. Tomasz Kielbowicz, a very flexible footballer being able to play a multitude of positions, has been recently transferred by Legia coach Jacek Zielinski to defence (being a midfielder under previous coaches) where he became a huge reinforcement. Bartosz Karwan returned to Warsaw after a two-year spell at Hertha Berlin and his form is improving with every match. Marek Saganowski has already proven himself to be a dependable goal scorer in the Warsaw team. Will Pawel Janas will trust Legia players?
