Legia name new coach

Legia Warszawa have appointed <b>Dariusz Wdowczyk</b> as the new coach and the sports director at the same time. <b>Jacek Zielinski</b> who coached the team since the end of 2004, will remain with the club as Wdowczyk's assistant. The sports director <b>Jacek Bednarz</b> has been dismissed. Dariusz Wdowczyk will tomorrow run the first training at his new club.
Dariusz Wdowczyk was born on 25 September 1962 in Warsaw. He started his career at Gwardia Warszawa, and in 1983 – 1990 represented Legia where he played 193 matches and scored 17 goals. Then he moved to Celtic Glasgow where he spent four years. The Hoops nicknamed the Polish defender as "Shuggy". Later Wdowczyk continued his career in other Premiership clubs. He was capped for Poland 53 times.
As a coach, Wdowczyk won the Polish League Championship, the Polish Cup and the Polich Super Cup with Polonia Warszawa. He succesfully managed first and second division teams and has been a respected media figure in Poland for many years.
