Legia controlled the game for the entire first half, with Volyn players mainly looking for counterattack opportunities. After a short interval Warsaw team appeared on the pitched in the same line-up. In the 51st minute the Cameroonian player of Volyn, Aluzi, defeated Legia goalkeeper in a one on one showdown. After ten minutes coach, Jacek Zielinski, made three substitutions. But Volyn gained the advantage over the Warsaw team and in the 67th minute Branislav Krunic turned a free kick into a magnificent shot. In the 81st minute Gaszin earned the equaliser taken from the penalty spot and Volyn. Three minutes into the second period, Lefia defender, Wojciech Szala was shown a red card for a brutal foul on his opponent and just two minutes before the final whistle Volyn beat Legia with the fourth goal from Aluzi.
