It was a beautiful Sunday evening for thousands of Legia Warszawa supporters who watched their team thrash the leader of Idea Ekstraklasa, Wisla Krakow 5:1. The opener came on 20 minutes from <b>Tomasz Sokolowski</b> who appeared in the line-up only due to <b>Aleksandar Vukovic's</b> pausing for yellow cards. Nine minutes later Sokolowski passed the ball to <b>Piotr Wlodarczyk</b> who doubled the score with an excellent header.
On 35 minutes Veselin Djokovic assisted the author of the previous shot and Legia increased the lead to 3:0. The visitors came off the field deflated and visibly drained.
After the break Legia again took over the initiative and on 59 minutes Jacek Magiera lobbed Wisla goalkeeper Radoslaw Majdan producing euphoria on the stands. On 70 minutes Tomasz Sokolowski sent the ball into the penalty field, Marek Saganowski passed it to Piotr Wlodarczyk and the striker could celebrate his hat-trick. With five minutes remaining Maciej Zurawski scored the only goal for the visitors.
Legia Warszawa stayed third, three points above Cracovia. Now the players' thoughts turn to Warsaw derby, held on 25 May at 18:00 at the stadium of Polonia Warszawa, Konwiktorska 6.
