Polish Cup Quarterfinals: Lech – Legia 0:0
12.05.2005 10:58
In the first leg of the Quarterfinals Legia Warszawa failed to repeat their Saturday success, when they defeated Lech 3:0 in the Idea Ektraklasa. Althouth the visitors had a great opportunity already on 3 minutes after a shot from the last game hero, Bartosz Karwan, Lech goalkeeper Waldemar Piatek managed to save. The host side quickly took the initiative, carrying one attacking wave after another, but Legia defensive wall stood firm as well as Artur Boruc who proved his class as usual.
Legia, aware of the second leg to be held at home ground, played much less offensive footbal than just three days earlier and a draw seems to be a fair result.
Bartosz Karwan left the field in the first half of the meeting due to some minor injury, but the player is supposed to appear in the line-up for the Saturday match against Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski.
